This application allows the Administrator to place remotes into test mode so that the alarms from these remotes are marked such that Controllers can immediately see that they are the result of planned testing.
Administrators place a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) into "Test mode" by selecting the RTU Test Mode checkbox in the applicable remote record within ADE. This action generates an event in the Event Summary window. Only Administrators can perform this function.
When an RTU is placed into Test Mode, all associated database alarms and events generated against the RTU have the text "RTU TEST -" prepended to the alarm message.
Notes: The RTU Test Mode application only affects alarms generated against the remote, as
opposed to the Test Mode Set feature which groups together points from different remotes.
For more information on Test Mode Set functionality, refer to Test Mode Set table.
If both RTU Test Mode and Test Mode Set features are enabled on a remote simultaneously,
the system prepends the following text to the alarm message: TEST MODE โ RTU TEST โ.
