Override the RealTime Extensions VirtualDatabase library

AVEVA Enterprise SCADA allows you to override the existing RealTime Extensions VirtualDatabase library with one of your own creation.

To override the RealTime Extensions VirtualDatabase library

1. Create a custom RealTime Extensions VirtualDatabase library.

2. In the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings directory, either create or open the RealTime_Extensions_Override.json file.

3. Add the following content to the file:

   {

   "Extensions": {

   "VirtualDatabase": {

   "<Name of Custom VirtualDatabase library>.dll": true

   }

   }

   }

   }

4. Copy the <Name of Custom VirtualDatabase library>.dll file to the %DNADataRoot\RealTime\bin directory.

5. Restart the RealTime service.

   When the RealTime service starts, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA will attempt to load the <Name of Custom VirtualDatabase library>.dll file. If the systems fails to load the <Name of Custom VirtualDatabase library>.dll file, or cannot locate it in the %DNADataRoot\realtime\bin directory, it generates the following error message:

   "Failed to load VirtualDatabase module <Name of Custom VirtualDatabase library>.dll"
