A comparison of the test results for the existing indexes and the test results for the modified index reveals several noteable conclusions about the duration and CPU time of queries, as well as the disk space requirements when using additional indexes.
With value and dataQuality included in the indexes, the duration of queries changed in the following ways:
-
Read duration was 22% faster than with the existing indexes.
-
Insert duration was 4% slower than with the existing indexes.
-
Delete duration was 2% faster than with the existing indexes.
With value and dataQuality included in the indexes, the average CPU time changed in the following ways:
-
Read CPU had 57% less usage than with the existing indexes.
-
Insert CPU had 3% more usage than with the existing indexes.
-
Delete CPU had 3% more usage than with the existing indexes.
When comparing the disk space used with the modified indexes, the inclusion of value and dataQuality resulted in a 31% increase in the total index size.
Note: Historical-Historical Add-On 7.7.1.8 must be installed in order to apply the additional indexes. This is currently only available for Elk SP4.
