The AddErrorAndChangeMarkersToButtonRowEdit plugin defines a set of columns to pass to a button. Columns defined in the AddErrorAndChangeMarkersToButtonRowEdit plugin are only visible in the Row Edit form, not in the Table Edit form.
The parameters are as follows:
-
Name="AddErrorAndChangeMarkersToButtonRowEdit".
-
Args is the name of the button, followed by the column names separated by a comma inside a bracket.
The DIMENSION attribute is used to represent an array, where # is the length of the array.
For example, when you select the Bit Pattern Input button on the multistate Row Edit dialog box, a separate dialog box opens. The AddErrorAndChangeMarkersToButtonRowEdit plugin defines all the columns to pass into the Bit Pattern Input button.
<DataSetTable
Name="multistate"
.
.
DataDisplayWidthMax="400">
<RowEditFormPlugIn Name="AddErrorAndChangeMarkersToButtonRowEdit" Args="Bit Pattern Input(
bitFormat_@inbits_@bitWidth,
bitFormat_@inbits_@bitDefn#@DIMENSION8#@_@bitNumber,
bitFormat_@inbits_@bitDefn#@DIMENSION8#@_@inRemStatusWord,
bitFormat_@inbits_@bitDefn#@DIMENSION8#@_@normallyOpen,
inIOSpecs#@DIMENSION8#@_@iospec_@external
)" />
The Bit Pattern Input button calls an assembly to display the values and allow you to edit the displayed data. The system passes in five columns, with the first column defining how many bits are expected for the record. Each of the other four columns has a dimension of eight.
<Button
Name="Bit Pattern Input"
TabOrder="480"
Label="Bit Pattern Input">
<EditForm
Assembly="OASySDNA.DBEditHelperForms.Current"
Class="MultistateBitFormatInputPopUp"
Method="BitFormatInput">
</EditForm>
</Button>
There is a difference between using the EditForm element with the AddErrorAndChangeMarkersToButtonRowEdit plugin and using just the EditForm element on its own. Both approaches require the columns to be defined in the Row Edit form.
If you use only the EditForm element, each individual column available for editing in the EditForm element must be defined in the Row Edit form. These columns are visible on the Table Edit form.
If you use the EditForm element with the AddErrorAndChangeMarkersToButtonRowEdit plugin, the plugin argument allows you to define both a list of column names to pass into the EditForm element and the array dimension of the column list. The resulting column name at the proper index will then appear in the Table Edit form. For example, Input Coords[0], Input Coords[1].

Note: You must define the AddErrorAndChangeMarkersToButtonRowEdit plugin at the beginning of the form.
