Deploy configuration files

Follow this procedure to deploy the files generated by the TCP Listener Configuration Tool to the listening system and the system running TCPListener.

Before you begin

Complete the steps in Auto configuration.

To deploy configuration files

  1. On the source computer, navigate to the configured output directory for the generated files.

  2. Copy the Tcplistener.xml file to the computer where TCPListener will run.

It is recommended to place the file in the same directory as the executable so the application will automatically detect it. Otherwise, you can specify the location later at run time.

  3. Rename the following files as indicated:

    • "connection_lo.l" to "connection.l"

    • "remote_lo.l" to "remote.l"

  4. Copy the two renamed files, as well as the remconnjoin_lo.bat file to the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\database\INTEL_NT directory on the listening system.

Important: Overwrite any .l files with the same name that currently exist in the ..\INTEL_NT directory.

  5. Start the Common service on the listening system, if not already running.

  6. Run the following commands:

    • loadblankdb

    • text_load

    • savedata

  7. On the listening system, stop OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service.

  8. Configure the OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service such that it matches the listening needs of TCPListener.

For example, if the start port of OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service is 5006, and there are 10 connections to which TCPListener must listen, create 10 port pairs for OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service. In such a scenario, the pairs would be 5006-5007, 5008-5009, …, 5022-5023, and 5024-5025. For further information, refer to OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service.

  9. Start the RealTime service on the listening system, if not already running.

What to do next

Proceed to Start and stop the TCPListener process.
