Point Import input file

By default, the Point Import application reads data from .CSV files placed in the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\Temp\CustomApps\ptdata folder. Each file must take the following format:
<PointType>,<InputCoordinates>,<Value>
|
Field |
Description and Constraints |
|---|---|
|
PointType |
One of the following values:
|
|
InputCoordinates |
One or more characters. For simplicity, try to match the point name. |
|
Value |
A numeric value representing the curval, cursta, currate, or inputCurRaw. Note: The driver imports analog and rate point values using the float data type. Hence, if the PointType is "A" or "R", the Point Type field in the analog or rate Row Edit dialog box in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) must be set to float. If the Point Type field is set to anything other than float, nonsense values will appear in the RealTime database (RTDB). |
Important: Spaces are not allowed before "PointType" and between "PointType" and "InputCoordinates". Spaces are permissible between "InputCoordinates" and "Value".
Example
A,XML_analog_1_F_110, 100
,XML_analog_1_2_F_110, 12.34
,XML_status_1_F_110, 1
S,XML_status_2_F_110, 0
R,XML_rate_1_F_110, 10
R,XML_rate_2_F_110, 20.35
Notes
-
Ensure that the point input coordinates configured through the Input tab in the Row Edit dialog box for analog, status, and/or rate points, and the Bit Format or Enumerated Input dialog box for multistate points, match the input coordinates in the input file.
-
Input coordinates should be unique across data types. Otherwise, in the following example, all three points will end up with a value of 0:
A,ABC, 100
R,ABC, 10
S,ABC, 0
-
Ensure that you configure analog and rate points in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) with a point type of float, and that the following formats are supported:
-
Decimal (for example, 2.5)
-
Whole number (for example, 0, 10)
-
Integer (for example, -1)
-
Exponential (for example, 1e5)
Note: Fractions (for example, 1/2) are not supported.
-
-
If a rate point has both a pulse and analog input, specify each of them as a separate record in the input file. Likewise, if a status point has two input bits, specify each of them as a separate record.
-
Array data is not supported.
-
Sending a control to an xmlproto point is not supported.
