Before You Begin

Ensure the table already exists in the database.

To create a new form

Note: These are the basic requirements to build an Advanced Database Editor (ADE) form with no columns in preparation for adding fields, which in turn allows you to create records within the table.

  1. Navigate to the following directory and create a folder called farms:

    %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\ADE\DBEdit\Schema\baseline

  2. Within the farms folder, create a file called farms.xml.

  3. Add the following lines to the file:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    <DataSetTables xmlns="http://www.telvent.com/DataSetSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.telvent.com/DataSetSchema ..\..\DBEditSchema.xsd">

    <DataSetTable

    Name="farms"

    Description="Farms Table"

    IsAutoGenDisabled="true"

    IsDeleteDisabled="false"

    IsInsertDisabled="false"

    LabelDisplayWidth="50"

    DataDisplayWidthMin="100"

    DataDisplayWidthMedium="200"

    DataDisplayWidthMax="300">

    </DataSetTable>

    </DataSetTables>

    For information on the attributes used in the file, refer to DataSetTable element attributes.

  4. On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.

    Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.

  5. Execute the DBEditDisplaySchemaMerge command (refer to Merge all DBEdit XML files).

    If you encounter any errors, resolve them first before continuing with the next topic below.

    Once the farms.xml file is compiled, the farms Table Edit dialog box will be available.
