Add new custom fields as keys

Often, projects need to add fields or tables to the RealTime database (RTDB) to meet business-specific requirements. For RTDB operations, such as searching, fields can be defined as keys to improve performance. However, multiple keys can have a negative performance impact and put stress on system resources, especially for table replication between systems.
Rather than create multiple keys, AVEVA recommends that you only create the necessary number of keys that fulfill your requirements. Unless you can clearly demonstrate the benefits, the creation of multiple keys on any tables is discouraged.
Important: In cases where you have locking contention issues during the replication, identify unused or underutilized keys and remove them to avoid unnecessary overhead.
