Languages available for Business Logic Tiers (BLTs)

The Business Logic Tiers (BLTs) that are available as part of the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA product can be created using three languages: Visual C#, C# Script, Visual Basic .NET.

The features and capabilities of the different languages used for client application creation vary. Different languages have distinct strengths and limitations. The selection of a language used for development depends on the following:

• Project maintenance requirements

• Ongoing additional development

• Ease of use/learning, and hence time-to-market

• Degree of sophistication required for the application
