Perform this procedure to configure which alarm states associated with a status point are the result of a safety-related condition.

Complete the steps in Configure a point as safety-related.

To configure the alarm states of status points as safety-related

  1. Navigate to the Input tab in the status Row Edit dialog box for a safety-related point.

  2. Ensure the point has at least one configured input bit.

  3. Navigate to the Alarming tab.

    Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE)

  4. Select Safety Related States.

The Alarm State Setting dialog box opens.

When the status point has at least one input bit, the alarm states available in the Alarm State Setting dialog box mirror the states currently configured as abnormal for the point.

For status points with no input bits:

    • The alarm states appearing on the Alarm State Setting dialog box are determined by the record's associated message set.

    • The Alarm State Setting dialog box is read-only.

  5. In the Condition column, select SAFETY for each alarm state associated with a safety-related condition.

  6. Select Accept.

  7. Save your changes.
