By default areas are sorted by name.

Use the right mouse button to:

Sort by name

sorts the areas in the ABA Area Definition window by name and alpha numerically (A-Z, 0-9).

Sort by description

sorts the areas in the ABA Area Definition window by discipline and alpha numerically.
