The main features of the modules layout are the menu, toolbars, Project Window (containing the tree views), Output Window and status bar. The location and status (on or off) of these items are saved in the registry so will persist the next time the module is started.
The standard toolbars can be switched on/off via the relevant menu items under VIEW \ TOOLBARS and customized via the Customize dialog (VIEW \ TOOLBARS \ CUSTOMIZE... or TOOLS \ CUSTOMIZE \ TOOLBARS...). Short cut keys can also be set up for a selection of menu and command features listed in the Shortcut Keys dialog (TOOLS \ CUSTOMIZE \ KEYBOARD...).
The status bar provides prompts (when carrying out various actions), information regarding the status of the current project and provides access to various settings. Included (from the left) are:
-
A general information pane displaying tool tips and prompting the User to perform a particular action.
-
When the active view is a graphics view and it is set to an orthogonal type (section, waterline, buttock or workplane) then this pane displays the cursor’s position in the current units.
A progress bar is displayed for many operations as an indication of how far from completion the current process is. When displayed it uses this pane. There is also a Stop button to the right of this which will light up red (when active). It can be clicked on (whatever the state of the cursor) to cancel the current process. Switch the status bar on/off via VIEW \ TOOLBARS \ STATUS BAR.
-
The current working layer is shown. By double clicking on this pane the Layer dialog is accessed to allow alteration.
-
Current global units and the X-Axis units are displayed. By double clicking on this pane the Units page of the Options dialog is accessed to allow alteration.
-
The current working coordinate system is displayed. (However the details of some WCS options can not be shown and so the pane will read Special.) By double clicking on this pane the Working Coordinate System page of the Options dialog is accessed to allow alteration.
-
The final pane shows the current steps in the rollback history.
