Gaussian Curvature

The colour and the width of each of the bands is specified via the TOOLS \ OPTIONS drop down menu, on the Gaussian Bands page. The default option uses nine bands. The middle band covers the values -0.01 to 0.01 with the bands on each side being of increasing width. It will be found in practice that the fixed bands are the best option for a whole ship or large group of patches, the variable bands work best for individual or small groups of patches. To render the view with Gaussian Curvature, set the material of the required patches to Gaussian Curvature. Having selected the required option the user should click the icon to render the view
