Topology

Purpose:

This function can be used to visualize the dependencies between model objects using the topology information within the plane panel as a basis. Given a model object both the objects defining it and the objects depending on it can be shown.

Furthermore the objects shown can be listed and activated (only plane panels). Once the plane panels are activated they can be for example, regenerated to adapt to any changes in the defining objects using the Recreate function described above.

Prerequisites:

None

Instructions:

Multiple objects can be given initially and the resulting objects can be used for the next search. This means that the dependencies can be visualized repeatedly, level-by-level. To benefit from this function the model must be created using topological references rather than pure coordinates whenever possible.

Also other objects than plane panels can be picked initially, provided that they are used in the definition of a panel. This is valid for for example, shell curves and surfaces.

Options:

Using the Option button will give the user a possibility to key in the model object name (for example, a panel, a RSO, a surface, ) instead of indicating it in the drawing.

Result:

The activation of panels can be made using the stored topology information of AVEVA Marine.
