Hull Scaling

Used to scale a patch (derived from a britfair file) by entering the New Values required for length (LPP), beam and draught. This results in the model being scaled independently (by the Scale Factor = shown) in each direction.

If, however, the User required equal (geosim) scaling, then this can be accomplished by selecting the Maintain Ratio option. Whilst scaling the surface, the general particulars may be automatically updated to match the changes made to the surface model.

Using Update General Particulars option, will result in the general particulars being altered according to the scale factors.

If internals exist in the model, then these may also be scaled in proportion to the hull scaling, by selecting Scale.

Irrespective of whether or not the internals have been changed, the underlying surface has changed, and so the internals shall need to be regenerated. As this can be a time consuming process, it is left as an optional function, initiated by selecting the Regenerate option. Of course if the User does not select this option, then the internals can be regenerated at any time in the future, through the menu option COMPARTMENTATION \ REGENERATE ALL.
