The hydrodynamic derivatives of the manoeuvring equations (see Manoeuvring Module) may be defined on this page.

Calculate Values

By default, the values are calculated by the program.

User Input

If you select this option, then he may input his own values, for example, from model tests.

Default

At any time, the Default button may be clicked, setting the user input values to those defined in the program.

Note:
Using the User Input option with Default values is equivalent to using Calculated Values.

Depending on which vessel type was chosen on the Dynamic Positioning Data - General Tab page, various coefficients are disabled, since they are not included in the manoeuvring equations.

Required Hydrodynamic Derivatives

The following table indicates which coefficients are required for each vessel type:
