Each gadget has a width and height attribute, which may be specified in the gadget definition, with values in grid units

as a literal distance in grid units

as the width or height of a previously placed gadget

as the distance from the gadget's position to the positional extent of a previously placed gadget
A gadget will have up to three parts which contribute to the size, enclosed by the gadget box, namely, Tag (to show the gadget title), Data-box (to hold the gadget value) and Decoration (for example, interaction button, pull-down arrow, padding space ).
