Multiple Drawings

You can select a set of Assemblies from a report, for which a drawing will be created for each of them. Furthermore, if a drawing already exists for a chosen Assembly, you have the option to recreate or update it.

To create drawings for a selection of Assemblies, click on the button on the Assembly Drawing Toolbar. The form Assembly Planning Deliverables will be displayed, as shown in Figure 2:7 below.

Options for the generation of drawings

The Search Filter (B) has the following options;

In order to produce drawings from a selection of Assemblies follow these steps, some of which are mandatory and some optional;

  1. Search for some Assemblies filtering them by scope and by a filter rule.

    1. Scan the complete MDB or below a suitable Design model element

    2. Filter the search results using the following list:

      • Those not drawn - search for all Assemblies that have not yet had a drawing generated for them.

      • Those drawn - search for all Assemblies that have has drawing generated for them.

      • Those drawn by me - search for all Assemblies that have had a drawing generated by the current user.

      • Bad Drawing Reference - search for all Assemblies that have a link to an unknown drawing.

      • All Assemblies - search for all Assemblies.

    3. Initiate the search.

  2. Select the Assemblies to be detailed from the subsequent report.

  3. Choose whether to display a selected Assembly in 3D.

  4. Choose whether to output the report to a MS Excel file.

  5. Change the default settings for the generation of the Drawings.

    • Choose whether a drawing is created.

    • Choose which type of template the drawing is to be based upon.

    • Choose the paper size of the template.

    • Choose whether a PDF formatted file of the drawing is produced.

    • Choose the operating system location of any PDF file.

  6. Change the default settings for the generation of a separate Parts List.

    • Choose whether a separate Parts List is produced.

    • Choose the type of Parts List.

    • Choose which format of outputs are required.

    • Choose the operating system location of any Parts List.

  7. Choose to generate the drawings immediately or via a Batch Macro for processing later
