A scheme is a sequence of lexical units. The partition of the sequence into lines and the spacing between lexical units do not affect the meaning of the scheme. The lexical units are delimiters, numerical constants, strings and name strings. Each lexical unit must be contained in one line. Spaces are neglected except in name strings.
