Powering Calculations

Powering calculations are distinguished on the application tree by the icon.

Under this task, you will see two (possible) sub-tasks:

• Powering Calculation

• Ratio Calculation

To determine the standard powering performance of the vessel, you should choose the Powering Calculation task, edit the data (as described in Edit Menu - Powering Calculation Related Options), and perform the calculation.

The technical reference (Required Parameters for Resistance Calculation Methods) describes the methods incorporated in the Powering module.

To produce a set of resistance ratios (between model tests and prediction methods), for possible use within the standard powering calculations, you should edit the Ratio calculation data and perform the calculations.
