View Commands in Initial Design Surface

VIEW \ OPTIONS...

Brings up the View Options dialog (see Open View Options Dialog), which is used to control the basic appearance (including settings for display, modes and layers) of the currently active graphics window.

VIEW \ SET

This gives the following options:

BOW

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal YZ plane and places the User in front of the bow.

STERN

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal YZ plane and places the User behind the stern.

PORT

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal XZ plane and places the User on the port side.

STARBOARD

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal XZ plane and places the User on the starboard side.

KEEL

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal XY plane and places the User under the keel.

DECK

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal XY plane and places the User above the main deck.

ISOMETRIC

If selected, sets the view orientation to the predefined angles (Azimuth and Elevation) defined in the Graphics Features page of the Options dialog.

PERSPECTIVE

If selected, sets the currently active graphics window’s projection to perspective.

WORKPLANE

If selected, assigns the current work plane defined by the working coordinate system, to the currently active graphics window.

VIEW \ REDRAW

Refreshes the display in the currently active graphics window.

VIEW \ REDRAW ALL

Refreshes the display of all graphics windows.

VIEW \ ZOOM

This gives the following options:

IN

If selected, the User is prompted to digitise (using the mouse) a rubber band (rectangle). The new view is centered at the centre of the rubber band and zoomed in by the ratio of the current view to the ratio of the rubber band.

OUT

If selected, the User is prompted to digitise (using the mouse) a rubber band (rectangle). The new view is entered at the centre of the rubber band and zoomed out by the ratio of the current view to the ratio of the rubber band.

VIEW \ RESET

If selected, resets the view in the currently active graphics window to its original size.

VIEW \ RECENTRE

Prompts the User to select a vertex in the graphics view to set as the centre (the point about which rotation is taken).

VIEW \ IDENTIFY

If selected, the User is prompted to interactively pick from one of the graphics views, the element to be identified. Highlights the selected element in the graphics view and displays its name in the Output window.

VIEW \ IDENTIFY FLASH

If selected, the User is prompted to interactively pick from one of the graphics views, the element to be identified and flashed. The selected element’s name is displayed in the Output Window and graphics window, which also highlights any external boundaries.

Important:
Useful when checking whether several entities have been joined correctly. Primarily to check the integrity of the surface to be used as an envelope for generation of internal structure (through Compartment).

VIEW \ IDENTIFY RANGE

If selected, the User is prompted to digitise (using the mouse) a rubber band (rectangle) within which all elements are to be identified. Highlights the selected elements in the graphics view and displays their names in the Output window.

VIEW \ SHADED

If selected, sets the graphics window mode to shaded.

VIEW \ HLR

If selected, sets the graphics window mode to HLR (remove any hidden lines).

Note:
Shaded mode will take precedence over HLR mode.

VIEW \ LIGHTWORKS

If selected, sets the currently active graphics window to use LightWorks for photo realistic rendering.

Important:
Only available if an appropriate licence is has been purchased.

VIEW \ TREE

Used to switch on or off the Project Window (holds the tree views). A in the menu signifying the item is switched on.

VIEW \ COMMAND WINDOW

Used to switch on or off the Output Window. A in the menu signifying the item is switched on.

VIEW \ STATUS BAR

Used to switch on or off the status bar. A in the menu signifying the item is switched on.

VIEW \ ECHO COMMANDS

If selected toggles the state of the echo commands option. If a is displayed in the menu then all commands issued (by dialogs ) are displayed in the Output Window.

VIEW \ TOOLBARS

This gives the following options:

STANDARD

Used to switch on or off the Standard toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

VIEW

Used to switch on or off the View toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

LINE

Used to switch on or off the Line toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

SURFACES

Used to switch on or off the Surfaces toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

SOLIDS

Used to switch on or off the Solids toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

TRANSFORMATIONS

Used to switch on or off the Transformations toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

OPERATIONS

Used to switch on or off the Operations toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

QUERY

Used to switch on or off the Query toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

COMPARTMENT

Used to switch on or off the Compartment toolbar. A in the menu signifying the toolbar is switched on.

CUSTOMISE...

Brings up the Customise dialog (see Open Customize Dialog), which allows customization of the toolbars.

VIEW \ REFRESH TREE

If selected refreshes (reloads) the tree views in the Project Window. (Alternatively click the F5 key.)
