Deriving Pictures from the Model

A major part of the information on a drawing consists of pictures (plane-views and intersections) of the 3D model. These pictures can be derived from the 3D model in an automatic or semi-automatic way.

This can be done in the system via a special function in which the operator interactively selects the information to be included in a picture.

It can also be done via special picture generation programs, which are run in a separate background process.

A picture can also gradually be developed if, in the generation phase, the panel is generated directly into a drawing.

Also the general model presentation feature inherited from TBGD is available presenting the model as projected volume primitives rather than the symbolic way used in the Planar Hull Modelling specific view creation routines. In the following the symbolic Planar Hull Modelling specific views are referred to as Planar Hull Modelling views while the TBGD way of presenting the model is denoted TBGD view.
