Hull and Outfitting

Radojcic (Series 62 type hullforms)

This method uses the regression formulae detailed in References 14 to calculate the bare hull resistance of high-speed, stepless, planing hulls. This methodology is applicable to hullforms similar to Series 62 for which one section may be defined by three points connected by straight lines.

The Formulae are a function of volume Froude number and four hull form parameters - a loading coefficient, length-of-chine to beam ratio, longitudinal center of buoyancy and deadrise angle at 50% of the chine length. The following limits are applicable to the input data:

where:

is the projected planing-bottom area

is the displaced volume

is the chine length

is the mean beam over the chines

and

is the deadrise angle at 50% of the chine length.
