To create an Insulation Requirement, selecting Create > Insulation Requirement on the Main Insulation Requirements Tasks window to display the Create Insulation Requirement window.
The Create Insulation Requirement window allows the user to set some general attributes, the location and geometry of the Insulation Requirements.

Enter attributes Name, Description and Function in the appropriate fields. |

Location |

Envelope height |
Enter a value for the envelope height. |
Design Criteria
|
Pin density |
Enter a value for the density. |
|
Fire rating |
Select a fire rating from the drop-down list. |
|
Fire resistance |
Enter a value for the fire resistance. |
|
Insulation Spec |
Select a specification from the drop-down list. |
|
Material |
Displays a Materials window listing material names and a description. Select a material from the list and select Apply. The field is populated with the selected material. |
|
Default thickness |
Enter a value for the thickness. |
|
Set plane from graphics |
Allows the user to graphically pick a plane to be made active. |
|
Geometry |
|
|
Use owning ELEMENT geometry |
Select checkbox to use the geometry of the owning element for the insulation. |
|
Define Insulation Requirement geometry |
Displays the Define Insulation Requirement Boundary window. Populated once the boundary has been defined. |

Create Insulation Requirement |
Actions the creation of the Insulation Requirement and displays the Modify Insulation Requirement window. |

Back to main Insulation Requirement tasks |
Displays the Main Insulation Requirement Tasks window. |
Define Insulation Requirement Boundary

Selecting Define Insulation Requirement geometry on the Create Insulation Requirement window displays the Define Insulation Requirement Boundary window.
Using the Define Insulation Requirement Boundary window, the user can select a boundary shape and set the dimensions of the shape and origin for the Insulation Requirement.

Select a shape for the boundary from the drop-down list. |

Enter the dimensions for the selected shape. |

Origin |

Origin point |
Set an origin point using the spin box. |

Derive Methods |
|

Pick Corner Points |
Allows the user to pick points in accordance with the selected shape. |

Define Boundary |
Applies the definition and displays the Create Insulation Requirement window. |

Return |
Returns the user to the Create Insulation Requirement window. |
