Create Pipe Penetration with a Penetration Component

Normally, a penetration ATTA element is created on the pipe to mark the location of the penetration. It is possible to put a pipe component at the penetration that represents a sleeve or penetration seal if the piping catalogue is configured to include such components. Pipe penetration components are modelled as COUP elements in the pipe.

  1. When a penetration component is required, select From Pipe Spec in the Specification drop-down, and select COUP from the Marker Type.

  2. The CHOOSE COUP window is displayed showing the couplings available from the piping specification. Select the required component and click OK.

    The Hole Management > Definition window is displayed. If the piping component selected has been configured in the catalogue so that it can be placed on either side of the penetrated plate an additional Flip Side option appears on the window.

  3. Click Flip Side to change the piping component so that it is placed on the other side of the penetrated plate.
