Release Elements from Local Claims

To release elements from a local claim:

• select the elements in a list and click Claim in the Records group of the Home tab. From the menu that is then displayed, click Release.

  

  or

• select the elements in a list and then right-click and select the Release option from the menu that is then displayed, or

• in the Engineering tab of the Database Explorer (see Explore the Database), right-click on an element, group or world and select the Release option from the menu that is then displayed.

The Release Records window is then displayed:

The window lists the attribute groups associated with the selected elements, and the columns in each attribute group.

To release an attribute group, ensure the appropriate Select checkbox is checked (this is the default setting).

Click OK. The selected elements/attribute groups are then released from the local claim.

If a selected element/attribute group has been edited, it must be saved before it can be released. If it is not, the release will fail. An error message will be issued to explain why.
