This is a new dialog under the General Particulars node, and contains six tab sheets for defining basic appendage information. This information is required for the three hydrodynamic modules - seakeeping, manoeuvring and powering.
-
Powering calculations require the wetted surface area of each appendage together with individual resistance factors for the calculation of appendage resistance. In addition, a bow thruster can be defined to include additional resistance factors.
-
Manoeuvring calculations require rudder particulars such as plan-form area, turn rate, Bilge keel effects are also included for Naval vessels.
-
Seakeeping calculations require bilge keel and stabiliser fin dimensions for additional roll damping contributions.
All of the above information is defined within the tab sheets.
