Reference Supports

The main purpose of the reference support functionality is to allow the user to add an existing ancillary to a framework.
For example, if when creating a new framework support there is an ancillary created on another pipe that the user wishes to add to the framework, the user can select the ancillary and it becomes part of the framework.
If the functionality is not available, refer to MDS Administrator Guide for further information.
The reference support functionality is available for the following framework supports:

Create a Reference Support
Example:
This example demonstrates how to create a reference support.

The framework support is created and a datum support attachment defined.

Select the Add Reference Atta icon
.

When prompted to Identify standalone support (Atta) to add, make a suitable selection.
The ancillary is added to the framework.

Adjust the framework support to include the added ancillary.

Remove a Reference Support from a Framework
To remove a reference support from a framework:

Select the Remove Reference Atta icon
.

If the framework contains more than one reference support, when prompted to Identify reference support (Atta) to remove, make a suitable selection.
The following Confirm message is displayed.
If the framework contains only one reference support, the following Confirm message is displayed.

Click Yes to confirm the removal of the reference support from the framework support.
The referenced support is not deleted, only the association to the framework support is removed.
Remove All Reference Supports from a Framework
To remove all reference supports from a framework:

Select the Remove All Reference Atta icon
.
The following Confirm message is displayed.

Click Yes to confirm the removal of all reference supports from the framework support.
The referenced supports are not deleted, only the association to the framework support is removed.
