Each module can take into account the effects of appendages.
The powering calculations uses the appendages to take into account their hydrodynamic performance and in order to do this you simply has to enter the wetted surface area and appendage resistance factor (1+k2), for each appendage. The 1+k2 factor will vary depending on the type and location of each appendage but guidance is provided in the form of default values for each type of appendage.
The effects of a bow thruster can also be accounted for in the powering prediction once you have defined the diameter of the thruster in question.
In the manoeuvring calculations, the rudder characteristics obviously play an important roll. However, bilge keel characteristics are also taken into account.
Within the seakeeping calculations, bilge keels and active or passive fin stabilisers may be modelled, to introduce additional, non-linear roll damping.
