Set up of Functional Descriptions

The available functional descriptions are registered in an object in the data bank associated with the environment variable SB_OGDB. This object has the fixed name __FUNCTIONAL_PROPERTY__.

There are two ways in which the FD:s object can be updated.

1. The functional FD object is created or modified via an input text file in a specific format described in detail below. This file is read and interpreted in a function of the hull utility program inithull. As a result of the interpretation the file contents will be merged into the FD object.

2. Modification of the FD object can also be done via a wizard in the FD function of inithull without any input file.

The interpretation of the concept of "merge" in this context will be further discussed below.
