Split at Point

  1. If the cableway branch is to be split at a point, select Pick Point. You are then prompted to Pick on the segment which the branch should be split: in the 3D view.

  2. Once selected the split point is labelled in the 3D view, and the Point Definition part of the Split Cableway Branch window, it is populated with the coordinates of the split point.

  3. If required, select one or all of the Lock boxes to fix the coordinate along the axis.

    • Align - aligns with the segment.

    • Distance from segment start - the distance from the start of the segment field is also populated.

    • Move offset - Enter a value in the box and use the right or left arrow to respectively increase or decrease the Frame Offset and Distance from segment start by that value.

Components Creation Options

  1. When splitting a cableway branch, you must define where the components located down-stream of the split are moved to from the Moving down-stream components to part of the Split Cableway Branch window.

    New Cableway

    Components downstream of the split will be moved into a new cableway branch in the design hierarchy.

    Existing Cableway

    Components downstream of the split will be moved into extra cableway branches in the design hierarchy.

    Note: Select the Auto Name checkbox to apply the autonaming rules, the software automatically creates a new name for the element.

  2. Select Split, the cableway branch is split at the point chosen, and the split is also displayed in the Design Explorer.
