The ID field is used to enter the identifier for the bay (Create mode only).
Note:
If however the supplied ID already exists a number will be appended to it to generate
a unique ID. (If the supplied ID ends in a number then this will be incremented.)
The ID can be changed at a later stage via the container tree.
The Container drop-list enables you to select the specific container type for use with this bay definition. A list of all available container types is given and you must select one.
The TBHD drop-list and X fields allows you to specify the position of the aft point of the bay. The TBHD drop-list holds a list of all available transverse bulkheads within the model. If the TBHD is set to None, then the X field specifies an absolute value. If a TBHD is chosen then the X field is a relative value to the transverse.
Similarly, the Deck drop-list and Z fields allows you to specify the position of the base point of the bay. The Deck drop-list holds a list of all available decks within the model. If the Deck is set to None, then the Z field specifies an absolute value. If a deck is chosen then the Z field is a relative value to the deck.
In addition to the above information, either the number of tiers and rows can be generated automatically, or the number of tiers and rows can be input directly. For each of these creation methods use the Automatic or Manual options.
If the Automatic option is selected, then you should enter the Max. Tiers, the minimum distance to the hull envelope Distance, and the bay Type.
You can specify one of three types:
-
Odd - an odd number of tiers is specified, therefore producing a tier on the centerline.
-
Even - an even number of tiers is specified, initially producing reflected tiers on the port and starboard sides of the vessel.
-
Any - you has no preference. In this case, both methods are used in generating the container arrangement and the method that gives the greatest container volume is used.
If the Manual method is chosen, then the No. of Tiers and the No. of Rows is required.
Note:
That this page does not allow you to specify the number of containers on each tier.
This can be modified on the Container Positions page.
Having entered all of the required information, then the Apply button should be clicked. This will either change (in Edit mode) or create (in Create mode) the required bay definition(s).
