Gridline Display

In order to provide a clear visible reference frame for the curves a grid of vertical and horizontal lines can be displayed behind the curves in the 3 orthogonal views, and on a 'base-plane' (at z = 0) in the oblique view.
The spacing of grid lines is in the units that are currently being used. There are different levels of spacing increment following a logarithmic pattern (for example, 100 m, 10 m, 1m, 0.1m, 0.01 m, 0.001m). Generally different colours are used for lines corresponding to different division levels.
The current magnification (zoom setting) of a view window determines the visibility of the gridlines of a particular division level - as the pixel spacing between the lines decreases, their visibility level decreases, eventually becoming invisible:

Labels near the left and bottom edges of the window indicate the positions of the fully visible gridlines. As a further reference, the position of the cursor (in appropriate co-ordinate units) is given on the right hand side of the main window's status bar, for orthogonal views only:

The gridline display can be toggled on and off with the Tool button,
, (or by selecting DISPLAY \ SHOW GRID).
