Creating a Hatch from an existing Patch

  • Last UpdatedDec 18, 2025

Like a container, a hatch can be derived from a surface entity, with the patch taking the dimensions of the surface.

HATCH "hatch1" CREATE PATCH "pat1" 100 16.5

In this case, a hatch named "hatch1" will be created with the same geometry as patch "pat1". It will take the length, width and thickness of the patch, but will be located at x=100 and z=16.5.

Once again, this task can be accomplished through the dialog. Choose the Patch creation method. You will notice that the Patch Drop button is enabled. Enter the required ID, X-location of hatch and Height of hatch above depth at CL, then either

  • click the Patch button and select the patch from the graphics view or

  • drag the required patch from the Tree View onto the Patch button.
