Purpose

To manage and report on mass properties related to a space arrangement. The mass properties used in this function are weights, areas, and welding lengths.

Prerequisites

None.

Instructions

  1. Pick a space arrangement in the drawing canvas.

  2. A grid dialog will be presented with the columns, depending on type of space arrangement.

Each column corresponds to an attribute on the space.

The estimate values can be updated by the user and the grid value will be stored in the corresponding attribute when ending the dialog with the OK button.

The calculated values are calculated by functions Paint Area, WCOG and Weld. Calculated weight of space contents is not yet implemented.

Options

The report is generated using the pml function massPropReport.pmlfnc available in the installation directory PMLLIB\design\functions. The pml script can be changed by the user which makes the report fully customizable.

Result

The standard report generates an Excel file containing Space name, Estimated weight (in tons), Calculated weight (in tons) and center of steel (in meters).
