Curve Active Regions and Split Points

An active curve may be split into an arbitrary number of regions through the insertion of split points. Each region may be assigned as active or inactive. Active regions are displayed with a solid line, and inactive regions with a broken line.

The split points for a curve are displayed by selecting DISPLAY SPLIT POINTS from the curve popup menu in graphics windows. Once this has been selected, the curve enters split point display mode. This prevents the shape of the curve from being edited, and data points and control points cannot be displayed.

Leave this mode

  1. Select the Right Mouse button on one of the curve regions.

  2. Select QUIT DISPLAY from the popup menu.

Active and inactive regions only have an effect when building a surface. Therefore, a full discussion is deferred until Using Split Points in Generating a Surface using PACE.
