Create/Modify Structure Reference

This function is used to create or modify the Structure Reference object. Information about this object and its purpose can be found in Hull, General Hull Concepts, Object Types of Hull, Objects in the Structure Databank, Structure Reference. For some additional information see Hull, General Hull Concepts, Model Structures of , Design Structure.

For information on names, see Hull, General Hull Concepts, About Naming in Hull, General about Names, Different Principles of Names, Composed Names.

When selected, this function will try to fill in the fields in the main form of the function with data fetched from an object with the name pointed to by SB_SREF.

By filling in the fields of this form you define the information required for the Structure Reference Object. Irrelevant values should be left blank, for example, for a ship without transversals all fields related to transversals may be left empty.

The form works as a view into the reference object. In order to view the information for an existing object (for example, other than that whose name is in SB_SREF) you must key in the name of the object in the corresponding field (Name of the structure reference object) and press Extract Data from DB. (This key may also be used to reset the original values if you want to return to the situation at entry of the function.) When doing so the dialog will not warn you of losing changed information and any such will be lost during the extraction process.

If a reference object with this name is found, the fields will be filled in with the values extracted from the read object. The user may choose to change the name of the object and any of the values in the fields and press Create Object, thus creating a new object. Alternatively he may just change the values and overwrite the existing object (modifying it).
