Curve Tree - Lines View

This shows the contents of the current Lines design and is similar to the Select Curves dialog. The Curve Tree is initially docked to the left hand side of the main window. It can be docked to the right hand side or it can be positioned anywhere by dragging the gripper bar at the top. The window can be hidden using the Close button and shown again via the menu item VIEW \ CURVE BAR.

By clicking the Right Mouse button over an item type (Boundary, Section, Waterline, ), a menu is shown with shortcuts to the Appropriate dialogs to create a curve of the item type. For example, clicking the Right Mouse button over the Knuckle type will display the menu shown in Figure 4:5 below. Selecting Create from Points will take the user to the Create Curve dialog with the Curve Points page selected and Knuckle selected as the curve type.

By clicking the Right Mouse button over one or more selected curves the menu shown in Figure 4:6 below is displayed.

The options are as follows

DISPLAY

Display the selected curves and patches in the active graphics view

MODIFY

Edit the selected curve (make it the current curve)

3D FAIR

Edit the selected 3D curve using the 3D fairing method (see 3D Curve Fairing)

PATCH AND CURVE EDITOR

Edit one or more curves using the Patch and Curve Editor (see Curve Editing using the Patch and Curve Editor (PACE))

FIT

Refit the selected sections, waterlines or buttocks. This option will present the Fairing dialog with the selected curves listed in the Series edit field of the Fit page.

REGENERATE

Regenerate the selected 3D curve. This can only be performed on 3D curves generated by intersecting a cline with orthogonal curves. A 3D curve generated in this way is indicated by an arrow in its icon (for example, )

IDENTIFY

Interactively select curves in a graphics view to highlight them on the tree

SWITCH ON

Switch a curve or patch on so it can be used

SWITCH OFF

Switch a curve or patch off so that it will not be used in other operations (for example, generating new curves by interpolation)

COPY

Copy a curve to a different type/name/position

RENAME

Rename a curve to a different type/name/position

DELETE

Delete a curve or patch
