Material Ordering

Standard hull programs for material ordering of plates and raw bars (Matplate and Matbar) can be used to generate a proposal for material to be ordered. Select a manufacturing package (representing a hull block) and activate the function for plates or bars. The material estimate made by the functions is generated as project materials and stored in the manufacturing package. Each material is marked as proposed and can be exported for material ordering alternatively be manually changed to become available materials for nesting activities.

The estimate is done by adding 10% to the estimated length or area and selecting the largest/longest material that can be found in the catalogue. Plate materials are recalculated into weights to consider for holes in plate parts (that can be used for nesting).
