A copy operation starts with selecting elements for export from the current project. Several selection methods can be used to build a selection. The selection methods include drag and drop from explorer, identify and select from 3D view, use Search utility, use MyData, key in by command etc. A useful feature is to find elements referred from currently selected elements, and add those elements to the current selection. This can be repeated.

When the selection is ready, the actual export operation is executed. During the export the Transfer Set is gradually built up, including data definition files for the individual elements.

For export operations there are no restrictions of what type of design data an application can export.

For successful export, selected elements need to be named.
