In order to complete a Trim and Stability booklet for submission to the Regulatory Authorities and the vessel’s owners, a deadweight table and scale is generally required. This output from Calc is available in tabulated format only, however a user can readily employ this data in order to create the required scale form.
In order to produce a deadweight scale, in tabular form, you can select the Form Calculations - Deadweight Scale icon and ensure that all input data is complete and current. The deadweight is determined by subtracting the lightship weight from the displacement.
The deadweight scale tabular data that is produced, extends from the lightship draft to a draft equal to the summer draft + summer freeboard. The particulars calculated at each draft can include the salt and fresh water displacement, salt and fresh water deadweight (or a variable deadweight), freeboard, TPC/I and MCTC/I and are as defined for the calculation of hydrostatic particulars (refer to Calculations - Hydrostatics Form for further information).
