Production planning is the activity that early in the design process defines the overall production plan including the specification of which building blocks to be used, including the boundaries for these building blocks. This activity also contains the definition of the secondary steel necessary for lifting and the construction process. The table below shows an example of a possible work flow:

Activity level 1

Activity level 2

Activity level 3

Model the production block arrangement.

Define limits for the production blocks.

Refer to the Common Reference Model.

Add block limits to the Common Reference Model.

Visualize the arrangement (separately or together with other model parts).

Check in 3D Canvas.

Check in Symbolic Views.

Modify production block arrangement.

Add or remove limits.

Add or Change elements in the Common Reference Model.

Analyze production block arrangement.

What is included in the production blocks?

Estimate work content.

Estimate weight.

Estimate size.

Register estimated work content and weight per block in arrangement.

Calculate work content and weight per block in arrangement.

Compare with estimated values.

Follow-up work and weight per block.

Add offset information to the blocks within the arrangement.
