Record 1

TITLE

Any title up to 72 alphanumeric characters

Record 2

LPP, BEAM, DRAFT, DISP

Ship particulars -length between perpendiculars, beam and draught (m) and displacement (tonnes).

Record 3

AT, AL

Transverse and longitudinal windage areas (m2) where, for monohulls AL > AT.

Record 4

BH, ACT, ACL

(for semi-submersibles only)

Beam of single hull (m), transverse and longitudinal underwater areas (m2).

If this record is included in the data file, then the vessel is assumed to be a semi-submersible.

Record 5

THRUSTER

Character string 'THRUSTER' - may be shortened to 'T'

Record 6

N

Number of thrust units (including propellers).

For each steerable thruster

Record 7

'S' X Y T

Character 'S', X, Y (m) location relative to axes (see Co-ordinate System - Thruster Coordinate Definition), maximum thrust (tonnes), barred zone (degs).

The barred zone is defined clockwise in terms of the prohibited thruster wash of a particular unit. Care must be taken in defining barred zones for angles which are either negative or greater than 180 degrees. Hence (-135 -45) defines a barred zone between -45 and -135 degrees whereas (-45 -135) would be incorrect and would define a barred zone between (-45, 0, 180, -135).

For each fixed thruster

Record 8

F', ‘L’ ‘T’ or ‘R’, X, Y, T+, T-

Character 'F', character 'L', 'T' or 'R' to designate either a longitudinal, transverse of fixed longitudinal thruster with a rudder. X, Y (m) location relative to axes (see Co-ordinate System - Thruster Coordinate Definition), maximum positive and negative thrust (tonnes). For a longitudinal thruster, positive corresponds to ahead and for a transverse thruster positive corresponds to starboard thrust.

The following optional data items can be included in any order by specifying the appropriate character string and the relevant data.
