Advanced Settings Dialog

This dialog is used to specify certain advanced settings. The settings concern the way intersections between curves are found when constructing the patch boundary network from active curves in the process of building a surface:

Intersection tolerance

An intersection point is defined as being where two curves come within this distance of each other (default value 1 mm).

Merge tolerance

If a number of intersection points lie within a sphere of this diameter, they are merged together, that means, replaced by a single point (default value 10 mm).

Close tolerance

This is used to define a "close intersection". A close intersection occurs where two curves pass within this distance of each other, but not within the intersection tolerance. The user is informed about the existence of close intersections if a valid boundary network cannot be found when attempting to build a surface.

Clicking OK applies these settings, which are stored in the design. Cancel exits the dialog without applying them. Defaults restores the default values to all settings.

Important:
The user is advised to exercise extreme caution changing these settings from their default values, as unexpected side-effects can result.
