The input to this dialog is fairly straight forwards and it is probable that some input items may change as the design is progressively developed, for example, when the lightweight becomes more established.

you enter the Lower Draft, Upper Draft, Draft increment, Freeboard depth, Summer freeboard values (units: meters or feet) and the Lightship weight (units: tonnes or tons). The Entered drafts are extreme option, should be checked to indicate that the entered draft values are from the underside of keel (that means, include the keel thickness defined on the Options dialog).

Calc can provide an initial value for the Freeboard depth, based on the Hull Depth at Side dimension in the Principal Particulars. However you may wish to change this based upon knowledge of intended internal watertight boundaries.

If you click the Edit Scale button, then the following dialog is displayed:

This allows you to add items to the deadweight scale by selecting an item in the Scale List box and clicking the Add-> button, or to remove them by selecting an item in the Scale Column list and clicking the Remove button.

The order of columns in the deadweight scale diagram can be changed by selecting items in the Scale Columns box and the clicking the Up and Down buttons.

The default deadweight scale can be reproduced simply by clicking the Default button.

Each column on the deadweight scale diagram can have the scale on the left or right (or both), or the scale may be omitted altogether. This is achieved by selecting the scale in the Scale Columns box. The Scale Side will show the current side. This may then be changed by selecting the required side from the list.
