Activated by selecting the menu item:

COMPARTMENTATION / CONTAINER ARRANGEMENT / HATCHES…

This dialog allows you to create or edit the definition of any hatch.

The mode of operation for the dialog is set using the appropriate option, Create or Edit.Depending on the mode, various options will be disabled as appropriate.

The Hatches: list is used to hold the hatches to be considered during an editing session. When editing, the Apply button and information displayed, acts on and refers to, respectively, only the currently selected items in this list. To populate the Hatches: list either, (a) select Get (from the pop-up menu) to interactively pick the required objects via the cursor in any of the views (use the space bar to end the selection process), or (b) drag the items from a tree view and drop them into the list.

Three methods of creating a basic hatch are available:

  • Associated Bay - you must select the associated bay. The longitudinal position, hatch length & breadth are generated from the bay particulars. All other information should be entered.

  • General - all hatch dimensions and positions must be entered. No associated bay is required.

  • Patch - An existing patch may be used as the basis of a hatch. This can be done by selecting the patch from the Tree Control and dropping it on to the Patch button, or by clicking the Patch button and selecting the required patch from the active view. If a patch PAT is selected, then a hatch HAT_PAT is created and the dimensions of the hatch are taken from the dimensions of the patch. The position of the hatch must be updated by you.
