Energy #1

This treats the patch as though it is a thin elastic plate, and defines the internal shape such that the strain energy within it is minimized. Parameters A and C parameters determine the relative stiffness of the surface in its two parametric directions. Parameter B controls how resistant the patch is to shearing. Energy #1 is often good for long, thin patches, for example, a stem bar. In such cases, the best result is usually got by setting either A or C to zero, and the other two to unity.
