DISTANCE

Purpose:

This function calculates the straight line distance between two given points in the current drawing and generates the complete Dimensioning component automatically.

Instructions:

1. In the Dimension menu, click Distance.

2. The two points are supplied by the user.

3. Next, the text denoting the measured straight length is positioned by user. Alignment alternatives for the text to position can be changed, using the Text Alignment toolbar. See Insert/Text for further information. By clicking Options here, some text attributes (height and rotation) can be changed.

4. Once created, the user is requested to create another dimensioning or quit the function. To remove the last created dimensioning, click Edit, then Delete Last Entity.

Result:

A complete dimensioning component, containing the measure text is added to the drawing.
