Modify Room Design Element

Selecting a Room Design element in the hierarchy or 3D view and selecting Modify Room Design Element displays the Modify window for that element. |
These are tasks used to make modifications to the main basic elements of the application, for example, walls, rooms, ceilings
Configuration
The Room Design application is supplied with a set of default settings which can be configured by the user.

To change the defaults settings, select Settings > Configuration from the main menu to display the Room Design Configuration window.
Any changes made by the user can be applied by clicking Apply Changes or cancelled by clicking Discard Changes. Clicking Restore System Defaults resets all changes back to the system default.
Description
The Description tab allows the user to set how the main element types that exist within Room Design are displayed on other windows.

For example, changing the text within the BBLOCK field to Building Area and BLEVEL to Floor Level and clicking Apply Changes, amends the text displayed on the Building Block Tasks window to match the changes made.

Navigator
The Navigator tab allows the user to apply filters to the columns within the Room Design Navigator window.

Allow Column Filtering |
Checking this checkbox and clicking Apply Changes allows the user to apply filters to the Room Design Navigator columns.

Allow Column Grouping |
Checking this checkbox and clicking Apply Changes allows the user to group the Room Design Navigator using column headings.

Display Column Summaries |
Checking this checkbox and clicking Apply Changes allows the user to apply a selection of Sums for columns with numerical values.

Clicking the symbol displays the Select Summaries window which allows the user to pick which summaries to display.
|

|
The select summaries will be displayed at the bottom of the column.

Display Total Row Count |
Checking this checkbox and clicking Apply Changes allows the user to see the total number of rows that exist in the relevant section of the Room Design Navigator.
|
Positioning
The Positioning tab allows the user to select the default positioning format that will be used during various element creation windows.

Right-clicking inside the box around the position values displays a pop-up menu which allows the user to select the default positioning format.

The format and values selected will be the default values that are displayed on the Room Design windows.

Dimensional
The Dimensional tab allows the user to define default heights for a room.

The user is allowed to enter following default values for a Stair Well.

Head Room
-
Head Clearance
-
Clearance Width.
The values entered are then displayed on the Create Stair Well window as the default settings.

Reference Lists
The Reference Lists tab allows the user to set the various default settings for:

Colour schemes
-
Fire Ratings
-
Hazard Types
-
Ceiling Information
-
Floor Information.

The user can edit the entries in any section by expanding the section and then clicking within it and keying in a new entry to suit the current project. After clicking Apply Changes the changes made can be seen in the Design Criteria and Defaults pull-down menus on various windows within the Room Design application.
