Trim Selected Sections allows a group of section elements to be cut back or extended to meet a selected panel, section element or line in a single operation.

If the target element is a panel, the section ends are cut back or extended to the panel and the cut plane is set to the plane of the panel.

To cut back or extend elements

  1. Select the section elements to be modified in the 3D graphical view.

  2. Click Trim Selected Sections.

You are prompted to Pick plane or line on destination element.

  3. Pick the destination element in the 3D view to cut back or extend the selected elements.

When the destination element is a section, the ends of the selected sections are cut back or extended through a line defined by the justification line of the picked section.

Note: No connections are made with the picked section. The selected sections are simply cut back or extended until they meet a line defined by the start and end of the selected section.

  4. When cutting back or extending to a line it is necessary to pick the target element with Positioning Control set to Graphics mode.
